I would like to play optimist for a second here, I get that this was a clear cost cutting measure, but what about the possibility that we moved smytty and his 6 mil to get someone like tanguay or kovalev, seeing as we now have a gaping hole at LW?

Stastny is ready for leadership. He played his best when the Avs put the "A" on him. Foote, Stastny and Hejduk are three people to wear the A. I for one love Quincey. He's 6'2 200, has a shot, defensive prowess and grit. All we could ask for in return.
